Top 5 sport media websites
As we have all moved online sports have certainly followed. Sports streaming services really come in handy. We don’t always have access to a TV with the relevant prerequisites to watch our favoured sports so being able to watch it with just the internet is fantastic. Especially those of us who may have moved abroad and there is pretty much zero coverage of our sport of choice. Now BBC Sport may not have the best range of live coverage but a lot of the time it can be the only place you can watch certain sporting events, like the World Cup, athletics and the Olympics. This makes BBC Sport an indispensable part of the sport streaming roster. I personally use it every weekend for Match of the Day and Match of the Day 2, the live streaming on the BBC iPlayer website is only in SD but on the Sport site it is in lovely HD. Keep in mind you do require a good internet speed for HD live streaming.
BT Sport
BT Sport is essential for football fans in the UK, it used to be Sky Sports with quite the monopoly on Premier League football coverage but now BT Sport have taken quite a bit of their pie. It isn’t ideal that football is on paid TV, especially split between two channels but that is how it is nowadays. BT Sport also has Champions League football this year so they are certainly making themselves the Sports channel to have. All of their channels are available to stream with no fuss.
Setanta Sports
Setanta Sports is a great, oft-overlooked sports streaming channel with a great selection of sports. Based in Ireland they are a great source for your Irish sport needs like Gaelic Football. They also have a good selection of football matches that aren’t available on the English TV channels. They also specialize in Rugby Union and Rugby League.
NBC Sports
NBC Sports is great website for American sports, with all the major ones available. Stuff like NFL, NHL, NBA and many more accessible I don’t think anyone will go unsatisfied. They also have a good amount of football available.
Fox Sports
Another one for the American sport fans out there, this offers the usual NFL, MLB and NBA etc. The good thing about Fox Sports though is their coverage of the UFC, which is really taking off now. It is most certainly hitting the mainstream.
