Unblock Channel 5 with Smart DNS

Unblock Channel 5

Channel 5 has been around in the UK since the 30th March 1997 and was the fifth and final terrestrial TV channel (after BBC1, 2, ITV and Channel 4) and as such has seen Channel 5 as the fifth most channel when comparing audience share. Channel 5 was rebranded between the years 2002 - 2011 to just Five, when it was owned by the RTL Group, it was then bought by a Richard Desmond owner of many of the most popular publications in the UK, examples being the gossip magazine OK!, the national papers Daily Star and Daily Express. Desmond vowed to inject more money into the network and change the name back to Channel 5, his efforts seemed to be in vein as he sold Channel 5 to Viacom for £450 million just four years after acquiring the TV channel. After floundering for a few years as the channel tried to find its identity, Channel 5 finally in July of this year decided to open up its production arm of the company and allow it to create shows for other channels, not unlike the BBC and ITV.

Channel 5 is probably more known for its US imports rather than its own original programming some of its most popular original shows include the likes of The Gadget Show, which was a weekly programme that showcased up and coming gadgets and various technologies, in fact The Gadget Show was so popular it spawned its own convention that happens every year. Other Programmes include The Hotel Inspector and Gibraltar: Britain in the Sun. As I mentioned above though Channel 5 is swimming with US TV Shows with the likes of the CSI franchise, NCIS, Dallas and Under the Dome are just some examples of what they offer.

Their most popular TV show though is the reality offering Big Brother and the Celebrity variety which they bought from Channel 4 in 2011, in fact Celebrity Big Brother on the 18th August 2011 was their most viewed programme of all time bringing in 5.57 million viewers.

Channel 5 are also known for their various ‘documentaries’, mostly on various subjects that are meant to shock or be manipulative in some way.

In the mornings Channel 5 brings Milkshake! where, from 6 am until about 11 am it becomes a children’s TV channel with various kids TV shows taking over.

This Channel is only available to those in the UK though but luckily there is a way to bypass this and that is with Smart DNS. What Smart DNS does is send your data through a proxy in the country where the website resides to make it appear you are trying access it from the correct location.

All this comes with absolutely no speed loss and no server switching of any kind meaning you can access Channel 5 and Netflix US at the same time if you were that way inclined. It is simple to set up too, just exchange your DNS settings on an internet capable device with the ones we give you and you will be away before you know it visiting whatever websites you wish.
