Validate your IP automatically using a DD-WRT router
Some of our users need to validate their IP address often as their ISP gives them a dynamic IP. When using our software you don’t have to worry about it as the software has the “Dynamic IP updater” feature. But in case you use other OS/devices we offer you the following solution.
You can add a cron job on your DD-WRT router to validate your IP address automatically every 5-10 minutes.
To do that, follow these instructions step-by-step:
- Open your DD-WRT router settings.
- Go to Administration -> Management, and scroll down till you see the section “CRON”.
Add the following rule:
*/5 * * * * root wget [VALIDATE_IP_LINK]
Important! Replace “[VALIDATE_IP_LINK]” with your Validate IP Link. To find it, sign in to your account on our website, go to “Packages”, click on your package and find the box “Validate IP Link”.
